The short answer
DMUN engages the United Nations directly as a youth-led civil society stakeholder. It delivers statements in UN meetings, contributes written submissions to treaty processes, and represents children and youth in the rooms where decisions are made. It is the first youth-led organisation to be accredited in over 62 intergovernmental entities and meetings.
Where DMUN has spoken
DMUN representatives have delivered statements at the UN General Assembly, the ECOSOC High-level Segment and the High-Level Political Forum; throughout the negotiations on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation; at the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption; at the Minamata Convention COP-6; at the Human Rights Council Social Forum; at COP28 in Dubai; at OSCE human dimension meetings; and at the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings.
A permanent presence
The Foundation maintains Offices of the Observer in New York, Washington D.C., Geneva, Vienna, Nairobi, Bangkok and The Hague, and its representatives hold mandate roles in the Major Group for Children and Youth. Through YouthCubed, it nominates Global Youth Representatives to major UN summits, including the Summit of the Future.
