Our Mission

Education. Representation. Research. Inclusion.

What is DMUN’s mission?

At the DMUN Foundation, we work to ensure that children and youth remain active and valid stakeholders in the intergovernmental system. We do this by providing free platforms and programmes dedicated to diplomacy, research, and advocacy, offering those that are most affected by international decision-making to be present when such discussions are made.

Established in 2021, the Foundation has become a leading example of what youth organisations can achieve, bringing young people across the world in one united mission to advance our ability to shape the most urgent and pressing issues that our world faces.

Our mission is to:

  • equip young people with opportunities to be informed of global events, and help them express their perspectives on those issues;
  • provide support so that young people are given effective representation in multilateral and intergovernmental engagements, with particular concentration on youths of underrepresented backgrounds;
  • demonstrate that youth-led organizations are fully capable of fulfilling the obligations expected of civil society stakeholders.

Our Goals

Education for all

Youth representation

Youth-led research

Inclusion and integrity

We want to:

  • deliver quality educational programmes on multilateralism and pressing global issues free of charge, for every student, everywhere;
  • enhance leadership and diplomatic skills among young people, equipping them with the necessary skills to build meaningful societal progress;
  • foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration across diverse countries, territories, and communities;
  • promote meaningful participation of children and youth in global decision-making.

Beyond our programmes, we also aim to:

  • be a politically neutral voice working only for the benefit and advancement of children and youth, advocating for their recognition within the framework instruments of intergovernmental institutions;
  • dismantle systemic barriers that have constrained the engagement of non-governmental stakeholders and rightsholders in intergovernmental processes;
  • educate and train a new generation of diplomats, negotiators, researchers, and advocates;
  • build a sustainable, accountable, and reliable organisation that can lead by example.
