Executive Director Jaewon Choi addressed the Special Meeting of the Economic and Social Council on financial integrity at its tenth plenary meeting, speaking on behalf of the Major Group for Children and Youth.
The Special Meeting on financial integrity examined illicit financial flows, tax abuse and their cost to development. The Foundation's statement linked financial integrity to intergenerational equity: resources lost to illicit flows are resources taken from the generation that will inherit the consequences.
Advocacy of this kind sits at the centre of the Foundation's mandate: bringing the lived experience of children and young people into the rooms where decisions about them are made. Statements are delivered by young representatives themselves, most of them under twenty-five.
The full texts of related statements, submissions and reports are available in the documents library on the Publications page, where they can be filtered by category and year.
