Foundation representatives spoke at the third session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee in Nairobi and at the fourth session in New York, where Executive Director Jaewon Choi intervened on sustainable development.
The third session met at the UN Office at Nairobi and the fourth at Headquarters in New York, marking the negotiations' move into substantive drafting. Foundation representatives from Kenya and beyond delivered statements throughout, and the Executive Director intervened on the sustainable development commitment under workstream one.
The Foundation holds accreditations and observer arrangements across the United Nations system, which allow its representatives to take the floor in intergovernmental meetings. Interventions are prepared by the Secretariat and, where applicable, coordinated with the Major Group for Children and Youth, whose constituency the Foundation regularly represents.
