Foundation representatives intervened throughout the first negotiating session, with joint statements alongside AGORA and March for Planet, the closing statement of the Major Group for Children and Youth, and a meeting with the Chair of the committee, Ramy Mohamed Youssef of Egypt.
The first negotiating session, held in August 2025, opened one of the most consequential tax processes in UN history. Foundation representatives intervened throughout, delivered joint statements with AGORA and March for Planet, closed the session on behalf of the Major Group for Children and Youth, and met the Chair of the committee, Ramy Mohamed Youssef of Egypt.
Advocacy of this kind sits at the centre of the Foundation's mandate: bringing the lived experience of children and young people into the rooms where decisions about them are made. Statements are delivered by young representatives themselves, most of them under twenty-five.
The full texts of related statements, submissions and reports are available in the documents library on the Publications page, where they can be filtered by category and year.
