Become a DMUN Member
Two admission tracks: one for individuals, one for organisations.
Admission for individuals
Individuals join the Foundation by registering for any Foundation programme, or by applying through the Foundation’s digital forum.
Registration automatically grants provisional member status. Provisional members have access to the Foundation’s programmes and may participate as observers in meetings of the Governing Body, but do not hold voting rights.
Upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the applicant becomes a full member of the Foundation and receives full rights, including the right to vote in the Governing Body and to stand for election as an officer of the Foundation.
Admission for organisations
Organisations join the Foundation through a process of adhesion: a negotiated accession, much as states accede to an international organisation. Each organisation’s membership rests on terms agreed directly between the Foundation and the applicant.
1. Adhesion Request
The applicant organisation submits an Adhesion Request to the Board of Trustees, setting out who it is and why it seeks membership.
2. Negotiation
The Board of Trustees and the applicant organisation negotiate the terms of membership directly: the rights, obligations and modalities that will govern the relationship.
3. Agreement on Adhesion
The negotiations conclude in the Agreement on Adhesion, the outcome document recording the terms agreed between the Foundation and the applicant organisation.
4. Accession
The organisation becomes a Party to the Constitution of the Foundation and signs the Agreement on Adhesion. Upon approval of the Board of Trustees, it becomes an Organisational Member with full rights.
